Swanigan died of natural causes at the age of 25 at Fort Wayne Hospital on
Monday night, according to information from the Allen County Coroner's Office.

CalebSwanigan was named Mr. Basketball of Indiana in 2015 by Homestead High School in Indianapolis, Indiana as his senior year and led the team to the state championship.
Caleb
Swanigan averaged 14.4 points, 10.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game over two
seasons at Purdue.
He was also
named a finalist for awards such as Big Ten Player of the Year, a consensus
first-team All-American, and Naismith.
He entered
the NBA Draft in the year 2017 and was selected number 26 by the Portland
Trailblazers.
Caleb
Swanigan, a 6-foot-9-inch personality, averaged 2.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, and
0.7 points for three consecutive years in the NBA with the Trailblazers and the
Sacramento Kings.
He was
selected by Portland for a second term in February 2020, but chose not to play
in the Orlando bubble when play resumed after the COVID halt, citing personal
reasons.

Swanigan was arrested by the police in December 2020 for drug possession and
appeared out of shape in his mugshot.
